Spusu SIM-only deals - are they worth it in 2026?

Spusu is one of the cheapest SIM-only options in the UK right now. Plans start from £2.90 a month, there’s no contract, no credit check, and prices are frozen until at least 2027. It runs on EE’s network, so coverage is strong. The catch: it’s a small provider, and if something goes wrong, out-of-hours support is limited.

What does Spusu offer?

Spusu is an MVNO - a virtual network running on EE’s infrastructure. You get EE coverage at a significantly lower price.

Current plans (November 2026):

All plans 5GB or above include unlimited UK calls and texts, under 5GB they include 500 minutes/texts. EU roaming is included on all plans, up to 15GB a month on the highest tier.

What network does Spusu use?

Spusu runs on EE’s network, giving you the same coverage as EE customers:

• 4G coverage: 99%+ of the UK population (Ofcom)
• 5G: Included at no extra cost - Ofcom puts outdoor 5G at around 89% of UK premises on the best-covered network (Ofcom). You need a 5G-compatible phone
• Extras included: Wi-Fi Calling, VoLTE, eSIM support, tethering, and spending caps

What do customers think of Spusu?

Trustpilot: 3.9/5 - Great (1,600 reviews, verified 27 October 2026)

64% of reviews are five stars. The most common praise is customer service with reviewers consistently saying they get through to a real person quickly, and issues tend to get resolved in one call. Pricing and ease of switching also come up regularly.

The 23% one-star reviews centre on a few recurring issues: signal problems in some areas, slow responses on email and live chat, and no phone support after 8pm or on Sundays. A small number report number porting problems and slow refunds.

Which? Customer score does not currently publish a customer score for Spusu as it’s a smaller provider and wasn’t included in their 2026 mobile survey of 5,173 customers.

Does Spusu raise prices?

No, and this is one of Spusu’s strongest selling points. The company has frozen its prices for a third consecutive year, with the current freeze running through at least 2027.

The major networks - EE, O2, Vodafone and Three typically apply yearly price rises whereas Spusu doesn’t do this.

Is Spusu good for roaming?

EU roaming is included on all plans at no extra cost, with a fair use limit of up to 15GB a month on the top tier. Switzerland is also included in their free roaming which most networks exclude.

Outside the EU, standard roaming charges apply.

Who is Spusu best suited to?

Spusu is worth considering if you:

• Want the cheapest possible monthly bill - £2.90/month for 1GB or £4.50/month for 5GB on EE’s network is among the lowest prices available in the UK right now
• Don’t use much data - the value is strongest at the lower end; at 60GB you’re paying £12.90, where rivals like Three offer unlimited for a similar price
• Want no contract and no price rises - 30 day rolling contracts with a price freeze until 2027
• Travel to the EU - roaming in the EU is included as well as Switzerland.

It’s less suitable if:

• You need unlimited data - Spusu doesn’t offer an unlimited plan
• You rely on out-of-hours support - no phone support after 8pm or on Sundays
• You need a lot of data cheaply - at the top end (60GB+), other networks are more competitive
