How much of this year's ISA allowance do you have left?
You need: What you have paid in since 6 April. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Your figures
Transfers between ISAs do not count. Money taken out of a flexible ISA and put back in the same tax year does not count either. Withdrawals from a non-flexible ISA do not give the allowance back.

The working behind the figure, with the maths shown rather than a shortcut.
How the allowance works
Every adult can pay up to £20,000 a year into ISAs, counted across every ISA you hold: cash, stocks and shares, Lifetime and innovative finance together. The year runs from 6 April to 5 April, and anything you have not used by 5 April is gone; it does not roll over. A Lifetime ISA takes at most £4,000 of the £20,000.
Transfers between ISAs do not use allowance, provided the provider moves the money for you. Taking money out and paying it back in does use allowance, unless the account is a flexible ISA, which lets you replace withdrawals in the same tax year.
What changes in April 2027
From 6 April 2027 the government has said savers under 65 can put at most £12,000 of the allowance into a cash ISA, with the overall £20,000 unchanged. That does not affect the current year, and the figure on this page comes from the gov.uk factsheet linked beside it.
Can I have more than one ISA in a year?
Yes. Since April 2024 you can pay into more than one ISA of the same type in a tax year, as long as the total across all of them stays within the allowance.
What if I have paid in too much?
Tell the provider you paid into last. HMRC usually contacts you, and the interest on the excess is not tax-free. The tracker shows the overpayment rather than a negative allowance.
Do my partner and I share an allowance?
No. Each adult has their own £20,000, and ISAs cannot be held jointly.
Does a Junior ISA count?
No. A Junior ISA has its own allowance of £9,000 for the child and does not use yours.
Can I put £20,000 into an ISA every year?
Yes. The allowance is per tax year, 6 April to 5 April, and starts again at £20,000 each April. What you paid in last year does not reduce this year's, and what you do not use is not carried forward.
Can I have more than £20,000 in an ISA?
Yes. The allowance limits what you pay in each year, not what the account holds. Interest and growth inside the ISA, and money built up over earlier years, do not count against it.
