The total is the setup fee plus every month of the contract. Sky states no rise up front, so its totals are at today’s price: Sky says prices may change during the minimum term, and it added £3 a month in April 2026.

Sky’s Openreach price against the national provider that costs least on average over its contract at a similar speed. A rival’s total includes the rises it states in pounds and pence. What reaches you depends on your address.

Read from our comparison partner’s feed on 2 November 2026 across sample UK postcodes; the postcode check shows what reaches yours. Providers set the prices and can change them. Tables built automatically by rules MoneyHQ sets: ordered by what deals cost, never by commission. How we make money.

Sky broadband is one of the most widely available providers in the UK, offering speeds from 35Mbps all the way up to 5Gbps in select areas. Their cheapest broadband-only deal on the Openreach network starts at £24 a month for either their Superfast (67Mbps) or Full Fibre 150 package which is competitive pricing for the speed on offer.

Sky runs on Openreach fibre so if you have big names like BT, EE and Plusnet, then Sky can likely be at your address. However, unlike most major providers, Sky doesn’t specify monthly price increases in contract and instead simply states ‘prices may change during your minimum term’. Under Ofcom rules you can leave the contract within 30 days of being told about the price rise with no exit penalty.

One of Sky’s strongest offers is for households who want broadband and TV bundled together. Their Sky Essential TV + Full Fibre Gigafast deal (£35/month, 900Mbps) and the Ultimate TV + Netflix + Disney+ + HBO Max bundle (£41/month) offer genuine value if you’re paying for those streaming services separately anyway. These also come with up to £300 in switch credit, to help make switching whilst in contract even easier.

If you want broadband only and you’re flexible on provider, you can almost certainly find a faster or cheaper deal elsewhere, especially from 5G home broadband providers like Vodafone or Three, or from full-fibre specialists like Hyperoptic or Community Fibre where available. However, Sky runs on Openreach fibre meaning they have much more availability compared to altnet providers.

Is Sky broadband any good? MoneyHQ verdict

The honest answer: good enough for most, but not the standout it used to be.

In Ofcom’s latest quarterly complaints report (Q1 2026) Sky was the second best for complaints per 100,000 at just 5, narrowly behind Plusnet at 4 but beating major competitors like EE (6), BT (7) and Vodafone (8). They were also joint for lowest complaints on their pay TV at just 2 complaints per 100,000 beating the industry average of 3.

In the Which? 2026 broadband survey (5,235 respondents), Sky scored 62% sitting in the bottom third of providers. Zen Internet (84%), Hyperoptic (77%) and Community Fibre (72%) all significantly outperform Sky on satisfaction. It also got beaten by major rivals like EE, BT and Plusnet which also run on Openreach fibre.

Trustpilot: Sky holds a 2.6/5 “Poor” rating from over 31,000 reviews, with billing disputes and customer service waits the most common complaints.

MoneyHQ verdict: Sky’s infrastructure is solid, and most customers have a quiet experience once they’re set up. The dissatisfaction tends to be around billing surprises (mid-contract rises, out-of-contract prices) and when something goes wrong and you need to call which can be time consuming. However, we rate Sky highly on competitive pricing for broadband whilst also offering some top TV bundles.

Sky broadband plans explained

Superfast (67Mbps) - £24/month

Sky’s entry-level option running over the old copper-fibre network. Fine for streaming in 4K on one or two screens and general browsing. Not future proof, this technology is being phased out across the UK, and Sky will migrate most customers to full fibre over the coming years.

Full Fibre 150 (150Mbps) - £24/month

The same price as Superfast but on Sky’s newer full-fibre network. Faster and more reliable. This is the deal to go for if full fibre is available at your address and you only need average speed.

Full Fibre 500 (500Mbps) - £27/month

An extra £3 a month for more than three times the speed. Worth considering for larger households where several people stream, game or work from home simultaneously. Sky also routinely offers switching credit (up to £200 on broadband alone) as a switch incentive which is worth looking out for.

Full Fibre Gigafast (900Mbps) - £29/month

Sky’s flagship broadband-only package. At £29/month for gigabit speeds this is one of the more competitive gigabit deals on the market. Also available bundled with Sky Essential TV + Netflix (£35/month) or the full Sky Ultimate TV + Netflix + Disney+ + HBO Max bundle (£41/month).

Full Fibre 2.5 Gigafast+ (2,500Mbps) and 5 Gigafast+ (5,000Mbps)

Sky’s ultra-speed tiers, available in a limited number of postcodes. Prices depend on your address. This is overkill for most homes as you will be limited by your devices’ ability to handle the speed, but it may be useful for heavy multi-user households or home offices.

Sky broadband and mid-contract price rises

Sky doesn’t schedule a fixed price rise in their contract terms, but they do reserve the right to raise prices mid-contract and did so by £3 per month in April 2026. The year before, prices rose by an average of 6.2%.

Ofcom’s rules, in force since January 2025, banned the old inflation-linked model (where rises were tied to CPI or RPI and you couldn’t know the amount in advance). Sky’s approach sidesteps this by not committing to a formula at all, they announce rises separately and give customers 30 days to exit penalty-free once notified.

What this means in practice: you won’t see a specific rise amount when you sign up, because Sky doesn’t commit to one. If they do raise your price mid-contract, you’ll be notified and have 30 days to leave without penalty.

Out-of-contract price: once your 24-month term ends, the price hike often becomes bigger with Ofcom reporting the average out of contract broadband customer overpays by between £7 and £9 per month, whilst also missing out on potential switch incentive bonuses.

Sky broadband vs competitors

Sky vs BT

BT Full Fibre 300 costs £26.99/month rising to £34.99/month by March 2028, so Sky’s Full Fibre 500 at £27/month is better value for similar or faster speeds if you don’t need TNT Sports. BT’s reliability scores are comparable; customer satisfaction is virtually identical (BT scores 65% vs Sky’s 62% in Which?).

Sky vs Virgin Media

Virgin Media’s Gig1 (1,136Mbps) with Netflix included is £29.99/month which is arguably better value than Sky Gigafast at £29/month without streaming. But Virgin runs its own cable network, so availability is limited. If Virgin is available at your address, it’s worth a side-by-side check to ensure you get the best deal.

Sky vs Hyperoptic

Where Hyperoptic is available (major urban areas), their 150Mbps package is £32/month on a 12-month contract with a £19 set-up fee, more than Sky’s Full Fibre 150, but its price rise is stated up front (£36 a month from April 2027). Which? rates Hyperoptic at 77% satisfaction vs Sky’s 62%. However, you will need to check availability first as they cover far fewer postcodes.

Sky vs Vodafone / Three 5G

If you don’t need reliable fast upload speeds or you’re willing to accept variable performance, Vodafone’s 5G Home Broadband from around £19/month or Three’s 5G at £14/month significantly undercut Sky’s entry-level pricing. However, 5G may not be suitable for heavy video call users or people who work from home with large file transfers.

Sky broadband FAQs

How much is Sky broadband per month in 2026?

Sky’s cheapest deals on the Openreach network start at £24 per month for Superfast (67Mbps) or Full Fibre 150. Full Fibre 500 is £27/month, and their Gigafast 900Mbps plan is £29/month. Prices are for broadband only on 24-month contracts, with a £5 upfront fee for some offers which is refunded on your first bill.

Can Sky raise my price during my contract?

Yes. Sky raised prices by £3 per month in April 2026. Under Ofcom rules introduced in January 2025, any planned future rise must be stated in pounds and pence before you sign up. If Sky raises your price mid-contract, you can exit penalty-free within 30 days of being notified.

Does Sky offer a social tariff?

Yes. Sky Broadband Basics is available to anyone on Universal Credit, Pension Credit, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or Income Support, currently at £20 per month for Superfast 35 or £24 for Full Fibre 75. You need to provide proof of your benefit entitlement to apply.

What speeds does Sky broadband offer?

Sky ranges from 35Mbps (Superfast 35) through to 5,000Mbps (5 Gigafast+) in select postcodes. Their most widely available deals are Superfast (67Mbps), Full Fibre 150, Full Fibre 500, and Full Fibre Gigafast (900Mbps).

Is Sky broadband available in my area?

Sky uses Openreach’s network for most of its full-fibre rollout, and full fibre from all networks now reaches around 82% of UK homes (Ofcom Connected Nations, January 2026). Their Gigafast+ 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps tiers are more limited. Use the postcode checker above to see exactly what’s available at your address.

What is Sky broadband’s customer service like?

Sky scores a 62% satisfaction in Which?’s 2026 survey. Trustpilot reviews (2.6/5 from 31,000+ customers) suggest billing disputes and difficulty reaching support are the most common complaints. Most customers who have a smooth setup rarely need to contact them as shown by their Ofcom complaints at just 5 per 100,000 however the dissatisfaction is concentrated among those who hit problems.

What happens when my Sky contract ends?

When your 24-month minimum term ends, your services continue running as normal on a rolling contract but your monthly price may go up. At that point you can negotiate a new deal, switch provider, or move to a cheaper plan. Set a reminder at month 22 as the savings from switching can be substantial.

Does Sky do broadband without a TV package?

Yes. All of Sky’s broadband plans listed above are available as broadband only. You can add Sky TV, Netflix, Disney+ or HBO Max as add-ons if you want them, but there’s no requirement to bundle.

What is the cheapest Sky broadband deal?

Sky’s cheapest broadband-only package in our comparison is Full Fibre 150 where Sky uses CityFibre’s network, at £22 a month. Over the 24-month contract, setup fee included, that is £533. On the Openreach network, which reaches far more homes, Sky starts at £24 a month, or £581 over the contract. Sky states no price rise up front, so these totals are at today’s price.

Does Sky do a 12 month broadband contract?

No. Sky’s broadband has a 24-month minimum term, and every Sky broadband package in our comparison is on 24 months. If you want a shorter commitment, our no-contract broadband page compares the rolling and short-contract deals from other providers.

Are there Sky broadband deals for existing customers?

The prices on this page are what Sky charges new broadband customers. Sky says its TV customers can get exclusive deals by signing in to their Sky account. If you already have Sky broadband, Sky says the Full Fibre price after your minimum term is what you were paying plus £5 a month, so compare what Sky offers you with the totals above before your contract ends.

How can I get a better price from Sky?

Go in with the numbers: what Sky charges a new customer for your package, and what rivals at the same speed cost over their whole contract, both on this page. Ofcom requires your provider to tell you between 10 and 40 days before your contract ends what you will pay after it ends and what its best deals are, so you have Sky’s own figures to compare. If Sky will not match a cheaper total, switching is usually simple: the new provider arranges it under Ofcom’s One Touch Switch rules.

Can I get Sky TV without a satellite dish?

Yes. Sky Stream streams Sky TV over your broadband, with no dish and no installation, and Sky recommends a speed of at least 25Mbps. Every Sky broadband package in our comparison is faster than that, starting at 67Mbps.
